ABC’s popular reality show The Bachelor is preparing to return to your tube on Jan. 6, 2020, with a new leading man, Peter Weber – a pilot from the upscale Southern California suburb of Westlake Village. Before Peter starts handing out roses and whisking his lucky chosen ladies away on one-of-a-kind date nights and experiences, we’re looking back at some of the show’s most popular date spots in Los Angeles.

So, if you’re visiting LA and looking to plan the perfect date night or date day for your spouse or partner, we’ve got you covered with these Bachelor- and Bachelorette-approved date spots – all you have to do is provide the rose.

The Theatre at Ace Hotel

Downtown LA has no shortage of beautiful Art Deco theatres-turned-event-venues, and The Theatre at Ace Hotel is one of the most spectacular. You can catch some of the hottest acts in the music industry performing here on any given night, and it’s also the home of The Bachelor Live On Stage.” The next “Bachelor Live” is taking place Feb. 28, 2020. From the first impression rose to group date challenges and romantic one-on-ones, you can see it all unfold live on stage.

OUE Skyspace

In Season 21, Bachelor Nick Viall was finally the one handing out roses (he served as a runner-up on The Bachelorette seasons with Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe). After taking a zero-gravity flight – which made Vanessa puke – the couple enjoyed a romantic evening at OUE Skyspace at the top of the U.S. Bank Tower, featuring panoramic views of LA. You can visit OUE Skyspace for the view or, if you dare, ride the 45-foot-long glass Skyslide that’s attached to the side of the building.

Bradbury Building

Located in Downtown LA, the Bradbury Building is one of LA's most historic and iconic buildings. The Bradbury has been featured in countless films and TV shows, including the sci-fi classic Blade Runner (1982), the Oscar-winning The Artist (2011) and the romantic comedy 500 Days of Summer (2009). In Season 22 of The Bachelor, Arie Luyendyk Jr. takes Krystal Nielson on a one-on-one date to the Bradbury for a private concert from Connor Duermit. You may not get a private show, but the Bradbury Building is certainly worth a visit.

Afterward, you can head across the street to Grand Central Market and get a bite at Sarita's Pupuseria, just like Mia and Sebastian did in La La Land (2016).

Belasco Theater

Downtown LA’s beautiful Belasco Theater was featured in Season 15 of The Bachelorette, when Hannah led a group date to the historic venue. The guys participated in a “Mr. Right” pageant featuring celebrity judges Miss J from America’s Next Top Model, along with drag icons Alaska Thunderf and Alyssa Edwards. While we can’t guarantee your man will be able to strut his stuff onstage, you can count on being able to catch some of the hottest artists performing at the Belasco on almost any given night. More information on upcoming events can be found at the Belasco website.

The Regent

In Season 20 of The Bachelor, Ben Higgins wooed Caila Quinn with a private concert from Amos Lee at The Regent in Downtown LA. The Regent was also featured in Season 23 with Colton Underwood, who treated a group of ladies to a group date that featured a private show from actors/comedians Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman. Even if you can't book a private performance, there's a full calendar of events to plan a memorable date night.

Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

One of LA's most historic sports venues, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum recently completed a $315-million renovation. Season 20 Bachelor Ben planned a group date for 12 ladies to the Coliseum, where they played a game with soccer pros Alex Morgan and Kelly O’Hara as their coaches. It’s not every day that you get to have members of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team coaching you during a private game, but you can take your sports-loving partner to the Coliseum for an LA Rams or USC Trojans football game.

Roller Derby

Hannah Brown wanted to see who could "roll with the punches" on season 15 of The Bachelorette, so she planned a group roller derby date. Roller derby happens to be a very popular attraction in Los Angeles, and while you may not be strapping on skates yourself, you and your partner can catch a roller derby tournament at several locations across the city, including the Derby Dolls – Southern California’s premier all-female, banked track roller derby league. There’s also Angel City Derby and SFV Roller Derby.

Universal CityWalk Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood is a must-see during any visit to Los Angeles. While Southern California has several theme parks to choose from, Universal Studios is the only place where you get to tour a working studio lot. If you aren’t feeling like an amusement park for a date, you can walk around Universal CityWalk, featuring shops, movies, clubs, concerts, restaurants, and much more.

This popular outdoor retail and entertainment center was also the site of a group date on Season 11 of The Bachelorette, when Kaitlyn treated her potential suitors to lessons on the ancient Japanese sport of sumo wrestling. The lessons were taught by World Champion sumo wrestlers Biyamba and Yama. Of course, the guys didn’t get away without wearing sumo belts and traditional sumo garb.

Guinness World Records Museum & Hollywood Roosevelt

If you and your partner are up for the challenge, plan a date night that starts at the Guinness World Records Museum, where Sean Lowe and Lesley Murphy successfully set the world record for longest on-screen kiss on the third episode of The Bachelor Season 17. We think it’s a record that can be beaten, so give it a try and let us know.

After your record-breaking attempt, stroll the Walk of Fame along Hollywood Boulevard to the storied Hollywood Roosevelt for a nightcap. In Season 19, Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff share a drink on the hotel's private rooftop, which can be booked in advance.

The Improv Hollywood

You can't go wrong by planning a date night that makes your partner laugh. The Improv Hollywood is one of the premier spots in LA to catch live comedy shows. Season 11 Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe took the guys on a group date that included private standup comedy lessons from Amy Schumer. (Spoiler alert: All of the guys failed to impress Kaitlyn with their jokes.) However, date night for you and your partner won’t consist of either of you being onstage, so you can relax and laugh with everyone rather than worrying about being laughed at by everyone.

The Grove

The Grove is a perfect place for a date night. You can grab dinner at one of the center’s fine dining restaurants or have a casual but delicious meal at the adjacent Original Farmers Market. If you watched Season 22 of The Bachelor, you might remember The Grove from a dog-friendly date night where the girls put on a show with dogs before a crowd on a stage that featured a sign that said “Bachelor Nation Presents: Arie’s Amazing Acro Dogs.”

“The Ellen DeGeneres Show”

Seeing a live taping of a talk show is arguably the thing to do when visiting LA. You don’t have to be a Bachelorette to get you and your partner into "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," which tapes at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. You can request tickets online for any date that has tickets available.

Season 13 Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay hosted a group date to a taping of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" where the guys played a game of “Never Have I Ever,” facilitated by Ellen DeGeneres herself. The famed host was able to get some secrets out of the guys, like one contestant admitting to peeing in the pool at the Bachelor mansion. You may not get to be on stage with Ellen at a taping, but you can get close enough.

"The Bachelor Mansion"

Known as Villa de la Vina, this massive Agoura Hills mansion has been home to almost every season of The Bachelor since 2007. A family lives in "The Bachelor Mansion" when the show isn’t filming, but you can cruise by on a drive to Malibu with your partner. Or, if you have a lot of extra money to spend, you can get a private plane to fly over the mansion like Ben Higgins did on his one-on-one date with Lauren in Season 20.

The Cowboy Palace Saloon

Cowboy Palace Saloon

If you’re up for some dancing, you can visit the Cowboy Palace Saloon in Chatsworth, which features cocktails, pool, live country music, and (most likely) cowboys. In Season 13, Rachel took a few lucky contestants on a date to the Cowboy Palace Saloon that involved mud wrestling – we can’t promise that’ll be the case on your visit!

The Culver Hotel

For one of the more romantic one-on-one dates, Season 12 Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher took James Taylor on a swing-dancing date at The Culver Hotel. If you’re looking for a place to snuggle up next to your partner, visit The Culver Hotel on weeknights after 7:30 p.m. for a romantic setting and live music. JoJo capped off her date night with a ride up into the Hollywood Hills for an overlook of the city. A short drive through any stretch of Mulholland Drive will give you sweeping views of Los Angeles that’s sure to make you fall in love – with the city, your partner, or both.

The Basement: A Live Escape Room Experience

Escape Rooms are all the rage these days, and Los Angeles has plenty of experiences for you to test your relationship in a high-stress situation, such as The Basement: A Live Escape Room Experience. In Season 11 of The Bachelorette, Kaitlyn and Ben went on a date to The Basement, where they were locked in a room and tasked with figuring out clues and puzzles to escape in a timely manner. The pair were faced with pigeons, zombies, and the threat of gas emission as they tried to make their escape. Ben stepped up as Kaitlyn’s protector and they made it out with four seconds to spare.

Six Flags Magic Mountain

If you and your partner are thrill-seekers, take a trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain, like Sean Lowe did with AshLee Frazier on Season 17 of The Bachelor. Located north of Downtown LA in Santa Clarita, Six Flags Magic Mountain is renowned as the "Thrill Capital of the World" with a record 19 coasters and rides for all ages.

Queen Mary

Colton and Hannah went aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach for a romantic one-on-one date in Season 23 of The Bachelor. The couple enjoyed dinner on the deck while taking in the ship’s storied past and majestic views of the ocean. Whether you want to have a few drinks at the ship’s legendary bar, take a walk on the ship’s starboard side at night, enjoy Sunday brunch, or spend the weekend in a stateroom, the Queen Mary is a must-see during any visit to LA.

Colorado Street Bridge and Pasadena City Hall

One of the most romantic bridges in LA, the Colorado Street Bridge is so picturesque it's appeared in numerous movies, including La La Land (2016), Yes Man (2008) and Rumor Has It (2005). Season 18 Bachelor Juan Pablo took Chelsie Webster on a one-on-one date to the bridge to do something you aren’t actually allowed to do unless you’re filming a major reality show: bungee jump. However, a simple walk on the historic Colorado Street Bridge makes for a perfect start or end to a date night.

After your walk, head over to the Pasadena City Hall – a significant architectural example of the City Beautiful movement in the 1920s – and the location where Juan Pablo and Chelsie shared a romantic private dinner.

Vasquez Rocks

There are plenty of places in Los Angeles to go horseback riding, but why not go where Colton Underwood took Hannah B. for a one-on-one horseback riding date? Located at the Sierra Pelona Mountains in northern LA County, the famed Vasquez Rocks Natural Area and Nature Center has appeared in numerous films and TV shows, including Blazing Saddles (1974), Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997), HBO's Westworld and most famously in various Star Trek TV episodes and movies. You can find more information about horseback riding at Vasquez Rocks on the LA County Parks & Recreation website.
